New Ways to Create

“The song is ended but the melody lingers on.”

- By Irving Berlin, American composer, and lyricist

It is the desire of every song writer to write a melody that lingers on in the minds of your listeners. I’ve found that intentionally going to a location or putting yourself in a place where you can write, is so important. The last time I began writing a melody was when we got a chance to go to our friend’s cabin on Lake Chelan. Here are my notes taken from my music writing note book: And when the song is complete, I will post the completely melody here as well.

Memorable melodies:

“Sing us a song, you’re the piano man/Sing us a song tonight/ Well, we’re all in the mood for a melody/And you’ve got us feeling alright.” Piano Man, By Billy Joel, American Singer, Composer, and Songwriter.

“Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down/Never gonna run around and desert you/ Never gonna make you cry, never gonna say goodbye/Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you.” Never Gonna Give You Up, by Rick Astley, singer/songwriter.
